Bonus Points

If you embed an academic literary criticism of your novel and give two comments on it, you will receive an extra 10 points on your timed writing. In order to receive credit for this assignment, you must post the link to this blog assignment. You must include your first initial, last name, period and link to your blog with the embedded literary criticism. This is also due by January 13.

Assignment #3

DUE JANUARY 13th
Choose one blog from two different students from assignment #2. Take a look at the Blog Entry Rubric on this webpage, and decide what score you think they should receive. You will comment on these two blogs with the following:

A. Your initials and your period number.
B. The score they should receive.
C. One strength and one weakness that should be addressed.

You will then post a comment to this assignment with your first initial, last name, and your period number. You will post the links to both comments you made. The first comment to this post is an example of what your post should look like.
Your 2 posts will be a minor grade.

Assignment #2

Choose one of the three following discussion topics. You will create a TEAR paragraph in the form of a blog for the discussion question you choose to answer. Make sure to include the discussion topic, your first initial and last name, and period number at the top of your blog.

You will also post the link to your TEAR as a comment to this Assignment #2 blog (minor grade). Be sure, as always, to include your first initial, last name, period, and link to your TEAR in the post.

Below are the topics for your TEAR. Include three E and A couplets.

Topic One: Analyze a character from your novel whose mind is pulled in conflicting directions by two compelling desires, ambitions, obligations, or influences.

Topic Two: Select a primary character from your novel and write a well-organized essay in which you show how a character’s demise helps to illuminate the meaning of the work as a whole.

Topic Three: In a well-organized essay discuss a character that must contend with some aspect of the past, either personal or societal, and show how their relation to the past contributes to the meaning of the work as a whole.

** The evidence should be paraphrased evidence, not quoted evidence.

DON'T FORGET TO POST THIS ASSIGNMENT TO MY BLOG ASSIGNMENT #2 AS THE DIRECTIONS ABOVE EXPLAIN. THIS IS DUE JANUARY 13, ALONG WITH ASSIGNMENT #3.
